We're a family of like-minded foodies with a fondness for simple food that's bursting with flavour. The memories we hold on to typically involve places we have settled into, with good company, and grazed on comfort food, while sipping on something special. We have grown an appreciation for venues that make you feel like you've come home ...... and it's not your night to cook!

Our goal is to share great food and drink, without the fuss of uptight dining. Mr Henry is a place where locals and visitors to Franklin can meet to enjoy whatever the occasion.

Humble Beginnings

Built in 1916, the old Patumahoe Post and Telegraph Office was the local hub, where people would gather, send messages to loved ones and receive word in return. Our plan was to restore the old building, with a twist, with the focus of it being a destination to connect and 'fill tanks' once again.

Thanks to the many hands and expertise of people in our local community, we think we’ve managed to pull it off. Mr Henry offers dishes that are fresh, locally sourced, delicious and served up in a relaxed home away from home. We look forward to seeing you soon!
